ایک دفعہ دو دوست سفر پر روانہ ہوئے۔ انھوں نے ایک دوسرے سے وعدہ کیا کہ وہ ایک دوسرے کی مصیبت میں مدد کریں گے۔ وہ ایک جگل میں پہنچے۔ انھوں نے ایک ریچھ کو اپنی طرف آتے دیکھا۔ ان میں سے ایک بھاگا اور درخت پرچڑھ گیا۔ اس کا دوست درخت پر نہ چڑھ سکا۔ وہ لیٹ گیا اور دم سادھ لیا۔

Passage 9

Once two friends set off on a journey. They promised to help each other in the hour of trouble. They reached a forest. They saw a bear advancing towards them. Once of them rushed and climbed up a tree. His friend could not climb up the tree. He lay down and held his breath.

شیر آے سے پہلے ہم گاوں میں رہتے تھے۔ گاوں میں ہم لوگ بہت خوش تھے۔ ہم صبح سویرے اٹھتے تھے۔ منہ ہاتھ دھو کر نماز پڑھتے پھر سر سبز کھیتوں سیر کے لیے جاتے۔ دوپہر کو درختوں کی چھاوں میں سوتے تھے۔ گاوں کے پاس ایک ندی پہتی تھے۔ اس کا پانی صاف اور ٹھنڈا تھا۔                                                                                                      

Passage 10

We lived in a village before coming to city. We were very happy in the village. We used to get up early in the morning. After washing our hands and face, we offered prayers. Then we went out for a walk in lush green fields. We slept under the shade of trees at noon. A stream flower near the village. Its water was clean and cool.

ایک دفعہ ایک کوا پیاسا تھا۔ وہ ایک جگہ سے دوسری جگہ اڑا لیکن اس کو پانی نہ ملا۔ بالا آخر وہ ایک باغ میں پہنچا۔ وہاں اس نے پانی کا ایک گھڑا دیکھا۔ وہ بہت خوش ہوا۔ اس نے گھڑے میں دیکھا۔ پانی اتنا نیچے تھا کہ اس کی چونچ پانی کت نہ پہنچ سکی۔ کوا سیانا تھا۔ اسے ایک ترکیب سوجھی۔                                                                                            

Passage 11

Once a crow was thirsty. He flew from here and there but he found water nowhere. At last, he reached a garden. There, he saw a pitched of water. He became very pleased. He looked into the pitcher. The water level was so low that his break could not reach it. The crow was wise. He hit upon an idea.

اڑھائی سوسال سے زیادہ کا عرصہ گزرا ہے۔ جرمنی کے ایک چھوٹے سے قصبے میں ایک لڑکا رہتا تھا۔ اس کا نام جارج فریڑرک ہینڑل تھا۔ اس کا والد مشہور ڈاکٹر تھا۔ بوڑھے ڈاکٹر نے ایک دن اپنے پیٹے سے کہا جارج تم بھی ایک دن شہرت پاو گے۔ شاید تم بھی پڑے ڈاکڑبڑے ڈاکڑ بنو گے یا جج۔ جارج نے جواب د یا، "میں نہ ڈاکڑ بننا چاہتا ہوں نہ جج میں اپنی زندگی موسیقی کے لیے وقف کرنا چاہتا ہوں۔اور وہ واقعی ہی ایک دن بڑا موسیقار بن گیا۔                                                   

Passage 12

More than two hundred and fifty years ago, there lived a boy in a small town of Germany. His names was George Fredrick Handle. His father was a famous doctor. One day, the old doctor said to his son. George, you will also win fame one day. Perhaps you will become either a great doctor or a judge.: George replied, “I want to become neither a doctor nor a judge.” “I want to devote my life for music.” And he really became a great musician one day.
